AMSTERDAM: market
I’m still reviewing Leica’s 21mm Summilux, and I have to say it behaves more like the pre-asph summilux that I used to use. When it’s right, it’s right and it outshines what you think is possible, draws beautifully, and all is good with the world… but when its wrong, it’s really just average, and it feels like a normal fairly soft lens. This one will take a little while to master i think… but that’s ok – i have time :)
This was taken at F1.4 prefocused at 700mm and is as sharp as it gets, even the curvature of the focal plane follows the angle of the face. As this is wide open and as close as it will focus, we will never see more bokeh with this lens. Enjoy!

nice capture ! i’m lucky to have the Slux 35 pre-asph
Thanks, yes – i used to love my 35mm pre-asph lux. I sold it to fund a new 35mm lux, but it was then stolen, and I now have a summicron to replace them.
Very nice very nice. Good tones and DoF for a 21mm. I like the look he’s given you.
This is incredible!
slammin good. classic candid portraiture.
A shooting in full pear… excellent! Have you seen those eyes? Thundering!
And I do enjoy it!
Nice
fantastic bro!~ super shot!~
masterfully done.
Thank you everyone, I was rather pleased with this Gent’s photo :)
Really like how wide this is.
great shot!
Really striking!
great
Wowww, this is absolutely superb i can say.. :)
… he looks quite comfortable with having a camera/lens pointed at him …
Captures so much of the guy. Very tender and beautiful rendering, but at the same time, as a character study unflinching a searching.
When I fall into a pot of money I might get this lens to go with the Leica I’ll buying.
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/thebrandonchambers] – thanks, yes – it’s a very interesting piece of glass!
Stunning capture!
Terrific candid street shot!
