BIRMINGHAM: timekeeper

I’m thinking of removing the black boarders and signature from the top and bottom of my images like I have it on my website www.JonathanTaphouse.com , what do you guys think? …are they unnecessary?

  1. Nicely framed and composed, great capture.

  2. excellent image. [the borders are unnecessary and distractive, it's time to remove it]

  3. love the lines in this. right angle heaven!

  4. A straight line is beautiful.

  5. I say borders are just a flickr craze. This photo is a nice and elegant composition though.

Seen in my contacts’ photos. (?)

  6. ive been brewing a half baked scheme fr ages now to foto the machinations of the rich in the same way we often see pics of the poor. this is a delight

ive plagarised yr border since i first saw them…
i use an 8px top and bottom and no sig. bit subtler but the framing device is nice. the sig (yrs looks clean) is a distracttion though

    so no strong opinion then!

  7. In my humble opinion, your images are strong enough on their own.
this is a great glimpse, love the reflected word "boss" on the glass.

  8. Belle composition! For me, much better without the two large black stripes!

  9. It seems to me that I am looking at slide film due to your black line. Like that! :)

  10. I gotta be honest – I would have faved a lot more of your photos if it weren’t for the black bands. I really dislike seeing a sig when I’m trying to enjoy as slideshow my favorites

  11. I think they’ll go… but it’s quite a lot of work! …. especially updating each blog post :(

  12. I thought it was Gok Wan at first, thought you might have caught him on the sly when he was in Bristol lol. Great shot nonetheless! I like the backwards "boss" reflection.

  13. Oh and the border….I generally dislike them but I do actually like yours, and it makes me remember your name. I wouldn’t remember many names from flickr so it’s probably a good thing?
